When you buy a designer handbag, do you say Why Did I Buy That later on that week or day, well let us see what is new in handbags for the Summer 2010 season? Well, from what I've seen up to now is simple, basic with tiny subtle trims and fringe along with crystal details. I do think with all the prints in ladies apparel this season and most of the “Greek Goddess” - inspired outfits - the handbag needed to be played down a bit! I've noticed much softer more subdued color pallets, mostly in the tan variety when it comes to leather goods. 

Gucci has a couple of bold colours, having a beautiful royal blue and citrus colored leather hobo bag with basic tasseled detail and bamboo but it continues to be very basic.

 I like the brand new LVuitton “Sunburst P M' in beautiful Monogram Denim. I know, yeah just what you could be thinking not another Monogrammed handbag but this particular one features a new refreshing twist. The LV monogramming is actually subtle and you may be intrigued by the bleach tie-dye look. The Sun Burst purse comes in two color selections, green and blue yet they aren't to bold, Vuitton kept this clean and semisoft. 

I must state if I must choose from one highend brand this year, it would most likely be Prada. I love the stunning lines and small details that really make their hand bags stand out this year. The Saffiano Traforato in white with golden trim is gorgeous - it reminds me of lattice or ribbons. I like the design of the Nappa Gaufre’ assortment with the leather being rouged together like a eye-catching gown.  The Plex Mistolino is exclusive and different with its clear casing on the exterior and you have to really like the jewelled gem detail they are applying this season! This really helps dressup a simple handbag and makes a bold, stylish statement! I am not impressed with the medium range handbags.

I think Dooney must have dropped the message considering they had been the only one which didn’t follow the innovator and proceeded to go with more bright prints (like Candy stripe and Zebra sport) collections this summer.

Coach, still, a wonderful and classic accessory, has tweaked its little insignia a little but other than that, not to much to get anxious about. If I were to select one item from Coach this season it might be the “Juilia Leather OP Art Perry Bag it's the Stand out purse in a sea of “Been There, Bought That!” 

Juicy Purses , well, just what can i say, I am an admirer but this summer there really isn't a selection that I like, simply but there is a lot of fun and whimsical bags, all over the place stuff, maybe they got the idea from Alice In Wonderland. The thing which caught my attention was the “Royalty Trolley carryon Purse it is a lovely pink and brown print. The ”Blue Blood” purse shares the same cute crown color print as the carryon handbag but had been astonished it was not launched for the fall season or Back To School look!

All in all, right now there are several lovely collections, high quality pieces out there which are basic enough that they may remain in style for seasons to come.  These are purses that are trendy and you shouldn't question yourself next week and say “What was I imagining when i got that?”!
